Former Live Oak athletes share with the Times what they have been doing since graduation; whether it be pursuing their sports goals or serving their country.

Eric Moeller, Live Oak Class of 1989

Former Live Oak High School graduate Eric Moeller is currently awaiting assignment from the Air Force for two years in Guam. After graduation from Live Oak, Moeller joined the Navy and served in the Gulf War on the MS Vincent submarine.

Following two years off, Moeller joined the Air Force and became a firefighter, he is currently stationed in Mt. Home, Idaho. For six months this past summer Moeller served his country in Iraq.

Alan Podawiltz, Live Oak Class of 2001

At the 2005 National Collegiate Water Ski Championship, Alan Podawiltz performed his personal best in the men’s slalom, trick and jump events. The championship was held in Paducah, Kentucky and hosted by Purdue. Out of 100 college teams nation wide only 16 teams were eligible for the tournament and Podawiltz performance’s placed him 15th overall and helped his team, UC San Diego, place 9th. Based on his individual performance, Podawiltz hopes to compete in the NCWSA All Stars Tournament this Spring.

Bryan Jones, Live Oak Class of 2003

Jones played football for the Acorns until 2003 and is now playing football for the University of Peugeot Sound in Washington D.C.. He was recently selected to the second team All-Northwestern Conference.
