Sometimes the most difficult part of any change is the starting point.
And that is the way it is with running, an activity known to give you a healthier heart, make you feel better and have a better outlook on a daily basis.
As director of the Freedom Fest 5k run, it’s my goal to provide a run that is fun and rewarding regardless of your running ability and experience. If you have not run for a while or want to take up running, I have a plan to help you start. A 12-week program will give you the confidence and ability to run the Fourth of July 5k run, which is 3.1 miles.
Andy Froumis, a RRCA-certified running coach who has logged more than 105,000 miles and has coached and given seminars to adults and children for their entry into the sport of running, will share his enthusiasm for running to novices and train them to participate and complete the 5k held on July 4th.
The program will last 12 weeks, and the first meeting will be held at Live Oak High School at 8 a.m. March 31.
