Has anyone noticed that tacked onto the recall election are two measures, Proposition 53 and Proposition 54? Prop. 53’s fiscal impact to California residents will “increase to several billions of dollars in future years.”
Measures submitted to a special electin are subject to certain time restraints, I believe. This special recall election should have only dealt with the two specific issues most people are concerned with – should the present governor be recalled and who, if anyone, should replace him.
Propositions 53 and 54 both should have waited until the March general election.
