Under a sunny sky, with perfect weather, Leadership Morgan Hill Class of 2009 struck gold with its Volunteer Morgan Hill Faire. Fifty community service organizations set up booths at the Community and Cultural Center as local residents toured the facility gathering information. Attended by nearly 500 people, many of them high school students, local community organizations experienced first hand the level of commitment Morgan Hill residents have for their community. By the end of the day, the groups had collected more than 1,000 signatures for information and/or a commitment to help out. High school students alone volunteered more than 400 hours of community service. Some of the community service groups who hit it big were Habitat for Humanity with 94 signatures and Discover Counseling Center with 74. Four others, including the Community Emergency Response Team, picked up more than 50 each.
