Live Oak moved above .500 in Blossom Valley Athletic League Mount Hamilton Division play with a closely contested 3-1 (18-25, 27-25, 26-24, 25-22) triumph over Evergreen Valley on Tuesday night.
The Acorns recorded 52 kills as a team, a category led by Fa Saulala (18), Madison Hartman (12) and Savannah Hartman (11). Alexis Buddle was responsible for 41 of the team’s 49 assists.
Defensively, Saulala (23) paced a group of five Acorns with double-digit digs – including Tula Urban, Courtney Borja, Paula Pinto and Savannah Hartman.
Live Oak is smack-dab in the middle of the Mount Hamilton League standings in fourth with five league games remaining in the regular season.
Right there with the Acorns at 5-4 after its victory over Leigh on Tuesday is Sobrato.
The Bulldogs worked past the Longhorns in four sets – 25-20, 14-25, 25-18, 25-19.
Both teams are in action Thursday, with Sobrato at home against Santa Teresa and Live Oak visiting Willow Glen.
