Due to construction to be performed by Union Pacific Railroad, a short section of East Dunne Avenue will be closed to all through-traffic for 48 hours, starting at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 10.

Eastbound and westbound traffic will be closed where East Dunne Avenue crosses the railroad tracks, between Church Street and Butterfield Boulevard.

Vehicle traffic will be detoured around the closure, and motorists will still be able to turn southbound on Church Street or northbound through the Community and Cultural Center parking lot on the west side of the tracks. On the east side of the tracks, traffic will be able to turn both northbound and southbound on Butterfield Boulevard.

Once completed, the railroad track improvements will allow UPRR to move trains through Morgan Hill more quickly, according to Morgan Hill public works analyst Jay Jaso.
