Two dead in string of wrecks; bus passengers elude tragedy

Morgan Hill Police and paramedics responded to a rollover collision Sunday afternoon that resulted in moderate injuries to two occupants of the single vehicle involved, police said.

The accident happened about 3:54 p.m. on Cochrane Road, just east of Peet Road, according to a post on the Morgan Hill Police Department’s Facebook page.

Witnesses said a Toyota Camry was traveling west on Cochrane Road when the driver lost control, police said. The vehicle went off the right side of the roadway into some landscaping. The car flipped onto its side and crashed into a light pole.

The Toyota’s two occupants were trapped inside the vehicle for about 20 minutes until emergency crews were able to cut off the roof of the car, police said.

The two occupants were transported to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries, police said.

The cause of the accident is under investigation, according to police. The vehicle was not apparently speeding.

Anyone with information on the accident can call Morgan Hill Police at (408) 776-7300.
