Morgan Hill Police are looking for the suspect or suspects involved in a Thursday night shooting that left two injured, according to authorities. One of the victims was critically injured.
About 8:12pm Feb. 20, MHPD officers were dispatched to the area of Cochrane Road and Mission View Drive on reports of gunshots fired in the intersection, according to police. Arriving officers did not locate any involved parties or vehicles, but police found multiple bullet casings in the roadway.
As officers initiated an investigation and began to contact witnesses at the scene, MHPD was contacted by San Jose Police with a report that their officers had stopped a vehicle that may have been involved in the shooting. The vehicle was stopped in the area of Bernal Road and Via Del Oro, according to police. San Jose Police told Morgan Hill officers that the male occupants of the vehicle were suffering from gunshot wounds.
EMS responded to the scene in San Jose and transported the victims to the hospital, police said. One of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries. The other victim suffered “serious injuries,” according to police.
MHPD detectives responded to San Jose to contact the victims and locate their vehicle.
During the investigation, police determined that the victims’ vehicle was traveling north on Mission View Drive and stopped at the intersection of Cochrane Road, according to authorities. The suspects’ vehicle pulled alongside the victims and fired multiple gunshots into the car.
The victims’ vehicle fled the area westbound on Cochrane Road, then north on U.S. 101, police said.
The suspects’ vehicle is described as a dark-colored sedan, occupied by multiple subjects, according to police. The vehicle was last seen traveling east on Cochrane Road at a high rate of speed.
