Representatives Mike Honda and Zoe Lofgren have joined national, state and local affordable housing leaders to call on Congress to establish a National Housing Trust Fund.

Silicon Valley Housing advocates have generated more than 100 local endorsements during the last three months to demonstrate support of the Trust Fund, a federal response to critical housing needs nationwide. The proposed federal legislation, which is co-sponsored by Bay Area lawmakers, would fund the construction of over 1.5 million affordable homes nationwide.

Believed to be the first such regional push in the nation, the local coalition has mobilized cities, community organizations, and businesses to join over 4,000 other organizations that have already asked Congress to make the Trust Fund a reality.
