Morgan Hill – A motorcyclist driving on a suspended license was arrested Sunday night after he attempted to run from police, according to Morgan Hill police Sgt. David Swing.

Mark Solheim, 44, of Morgan Hill, was cited and released on charges of allegedly failing to yield, reckless driving and driving on a suspended license.

The pursuit began when police officer Jeff Brandon attempted to pull Solheim over at approximately 9:40pm for a minor traffic violation. Swing said Solheim sped away instead of stopping, with Brandon following. Solheim drove through a field, and the pursuit was called off for safety reasons.

Shortly after, Solheim was spotted by Morgan Hill police Cpl. Ray Ramos at Tennant Avenue and Vineyard Boulevard. Ramos pulled him over and arrested him.

“The reason why he ran, he said, was because he didn’t want to get another ticket,” Swing said.
