Laughter Yoga

Many news outlets have been highlighting different ways people are finding happiness these days. One of those methods was featured on CNN, Fox News, the Today Show, and also Oprah. It’s Laughter Yoga. Developed in 1995 in response to medical research on the affects of laughter on health, Laughter Yoga is an informal social gathering where the club members enjoy between 30 and 50 minutes of laughter exercises. My wife and I have recently been trained as Laughter Yoga leaders, and are interested in starting a club in Morgan Hill. There are no fees, no commitments, and no sense of humor necessary.

  • Dear Laugh-a-lots: Red Phone appreciates your comment and information. The Crimson Crusader and many Morgan Hill residents could use the Laughter Yoga technique you describe as we often work in stressful environments and need a fun way to relax and release tension. The Crusader appreciates you care enough about others that you want to bring a little bit of laughter and happiness into their lives. The Crusader encourages its readers to send an e-mail to ca**********@***il.com to attend these happy sessions. You might see the Crusader there trying to lighten up.

El Capri Mystery

My family and I enjoyed dining at the Mexican restaurant El Capri for nearly a decade. I still see their taco cart around town, but the building at Cochrane and Monterey roads is shuttered. What happened to the nice family that ran the place?

  • Dear El Capri patron: According to city business sources, the Andrade family sold the restaurant about a year ago. Sources don’t know the reason for the sale, but Red Phone has heard rumors that the family is making more profits out of its taco truck than operating a full-blown restaurant. Red Phone contacted all the Andrades listed in the white pages of the Morgan Hill phone book without any luck. The Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce and the city of Morgan Hill weren’t able to provide the newspaper with a phone number to contact the family. We can only hope the family is doing well and if we hear from them after this appears in the paper, we’ll be sure and let you know caller how the family is doing.

Reading Times online

Why can’t articles in the Morgan Hill Times be accessed online but the Dispatch can. I travel often and it would be nice to read news from the town I live in, instead of Gilroy’s. I appreciate the access to Gilroy but why restrict one paper and not the other? I don’t subscribe to the Mercury either but I can read it online too.

  • Dear Times reader: After several years of restricting access to its Web site content, the newspaper lifted such prohibition at the end of September so that now anyone can read the Times online for free. The newspaper decided to stop charging for access to the site to make its electronic access similar to access provided by its sister newspapers The Gilroy Dispatch and Hollister Free Lance. The free access, we’re happy to report, has generated more traffic to our site. Many readers are finding the site from search engines and links on other sites instead of coming directly to MorganHillTimes.com, which is great news. These readers, who before were prohibited from accessing the site, are great opportunities for newspaper growth, more page views and increased advertising revenue. The Times has been serving the community with local news coverage for more than 113 years, since 1894. We hope you enjoy our free online content.
