Morgan Hill’s City Beautification Day has been rescheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, May 10. The annual event was canceled April 26 because recent rains made the ground unsuitable for digging, planting and too soft to deliver the truckloads of bark that are always part of this spring spruce up.

Everyone is invited to join families, singles and groups – scouts, church, neighborhood, sports, nonprofits, any group at all – and city workers around town to honor Earth Day (it’s never too late). Some workers will clean up creeks, roadsides and parks. Others will plant shrubs and flowers. Together, workers will make Morgan Hill shine as never before.

Meet at City Hall, 17555 Peak Ave. at 8 a.m. Wear a hat and appropriate clothes and bring gardening gloves and water. Participants will still receive the official Beautification Day T-shirts. The shirts may become collectors’ items since they will have the April 26 date. No need to RSVP, just appear at City Hall for instructions. The workday will be followed by a barbecue at Community Park at noon. Details are on the city website www.morgan-hill.ca.gov/ or 779-7271.
