Three local teens who are all part of Boy Scout Troop 709 received their Eagle Scout Award during a March 27 ceremony.
The scout trio of 18-year-olds has been with the program since they were seven years olds. Brennen Piper and Harrison Hill are seniors at Live Oak High School, while Tanner Fry is a junior at Oakwood School. Hill will attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in the fall and Piper is off to Utah State University.
While with the scouts, the three teens climbed Mount Whitney at 14,000 feet above sea level among their other adventures such as snow camping as well as performed charity work and community service.
