The Buzz Stop and New Church Morgan Hill raised more than $2,000 for the Morgan Hill-based human service provider Community Solutions Domestic Violence Services program during a March 23 charity Fundraising Darts Tournament.
About 30 people competed in the double elimination tournament held at The Buzz Stop coffee shop, located at the intersection of Monterey Road and Second Street.
Organizers raised $1,100 from the event’s entrance fee and donations. New Church Morgan Hill matched the funds, bringing the total amount of money raised to $2,200.
Prizes included a home theater system, portable DVD player, MP3 players, Bluetooth headset, gift basket, and coffee accouterments. They were donated by Best Buy of Almaden, Sandisk, Plantronics, and the Buzz Stop. Jarod Radonich took first place and Ivana Sarll took second. Winning the “E for effort” bracket was Steve Caudell, with Don Jensen placing second.
“We were trying to bring the community together and to support and love the people and their families affected by domestic violence,” said Katherine Mazotti, tournament coordinator.
