We at BookSmart would like to express our appreciation to all those who helped sponsor the citywide Read-Out that brought Francisco Jiménez, author of “Breaking Through” to the new community and cultural center on Feb. 22.
This wonderful bilingual and communitywide event was attended by 150 students, teachers and other adults. Everyone learned more about Jiménez’s experience growing up in an immigrant, farmworking family.
Our thanks go to the City of Morgan Hill, the Morgan Hill Community Library, Friends of the Morgan Hill Library, the Morgan Hill Times, the American Association of University Women – Morgan Hill branch and the Morgan Hill School District.
How exciting it is to be part of a community that values reading and learning about different cultures.
