Sylvia N. Dodge died Oct. 21, 2004, in Morgan Hill at the age of 96.
Born in Bradford, England, on May 15, 1908, she came to the United States in 1910 living in Paterson, N.J., and Fair Lawn, N.J., before moving to California where she lived for 22 years. She then returned to Paterson, moving back to California four years ago.
She was a secretary/ bookkeeper for Trenton Silk Co. in Paterson for 12 years before retiring in 1936.
She is survived by her daughter Joyce Ann Nehlsen of Morgan Hill; grandsons Craig Nehlsen of Carlsbad and Keith Nehlsen and his wife, Kristen of Oceanside; great-grandchildren Kelsey Hernandez, Kaytlyn Nehl-sen and Kasey Nehlsen; sister-in-law Mildred Rawcliffe; a nephew; and two nieces.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Christopher G. Dodge (1990); sister Mary E. Proctor; and brothers George and Raymond Rawcliffe.
Services were held in Totowa, N.J., on Oct. 28, 2004, followed by interment at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Paterson. Requiem services will be held Nov. 20, 5pm at St. John the Divine Episcopal Church, 17740 Peak Ave.
