Each month, the principals of Live Oak and Sobrato high schools choose a “Student of the Week” (two from each high school per month). Live Oak senior Guadalupe Munoz, 18, is this week’s Student of the Week. She’s also our last Student of the Week for the 2012-13 school year.
What inspires you? My family inspires me to do my best. They are the reason I want to further my education.
What is your favorite subject in school, and why? History is my favorite subject because I like to learn about different cultures and the history of different countries.
If you had the power to change one thing in the world, what would it be? I would love to change poverty because then everyone would have an equal chance in life. They would have more opportunities.
If you could go anywhere, where would you go? I would love to go to London.
Name one big challenge in your life right now: One challenge I have right now would probably be figuring out how to pay my tuition but I am working on it so it’s going well.
What is your dream job? I would love to be a diplomat.
If you were stuck on a deserted island, what three things could you not live without? I wouldn’t be able to live without my family, computer and books.
Favorite book: “Rain of Gold.”
What are your plans post high school? I am going to UC Santa Cruz and I am going to get a major in psychology.
Something that makes you smile: Something that makes me smile would be my nephews because they are funny characters.
