Junior Division Starlets 11, Meteors 3 In the first inning, the
Starlets took a 4-0 lead, but the Meteors fought back with a double
by Melanie Menage, two stolen bases and the first run scored on a
sacrifice by Viviana Rubio. Brittney Purcell was then hit by a
pitch, stole a base and scored on a single by Abby Reynolds.
Junior Division

Starlets 11, Meteors 3

In the first inning, the Starlets took a 4-0 lead, but the Meteors fought back with a double by Melanie Menage, two stolen bases and the first run scored on a sacrifice by Viviana Rubio. Brittney Purcell was then hit by a pitch, stole a base and scored on a single by Abby Reynolds.

The Starlets continued the power hitting in the second inning with three home runs in the game. Megan Rauschnot and Erin Leggett both hit home runs, and Lisa Woodson had a grand slam. The Meteors’ Nestley Combs also showed the power of her bat with a powerful home run of her own.

While the Meteors could not keep up with the power hitting and pitching of Woodson, they showed some great defense with good plays by Katie Machado, Kati Graham and Whitney Alter. In addition, the Meteors had their best combined pitching outing by Menage, Emily Malech, Amber Fearnside and Combs .

Major Division

Jaguars 7, Cheetahs 1

The Jaguars and Cheetahs played a good game as they battled through the wind and light rain on Saturday. The Jaguar pitchers Kendra Munro and Kelly Hillman did a great job on the mound and had eight strikeouts between them. Julia Hartl hit a slap bunt and hustled down to first base to beat the throw. Desiree Foster had an RBI. Kourtney Kientzy hit a triple and brought in two runs. Stephanie Doting at catcher and Hillman at pitcher made an outstanding play at home and put a tag on the runner stopping the Cheetahs from scoring more runs.

Lions 5, Leopards 1

Tanya Fern had six strikeouts for the Lions. Arianne Fitch and Chererae PreJean had unassisted outs, and Fern and Olivia Pereira assisted outs at first base. Lions Biana Carter picked up an RBI with a sacrifice fly to left field. Jennafer Robertson pitched the last two innings for the Leopards and didn’t give up any hits. Sarina Santiago and Robertson made unassisted outs at second and shortstop. Leopards catcher Rachel Farris had an assisted and unassisted out. Erica Turnlund scored the Leopards one run.

Senior Division

Hurricanes 4, Tornados 2

Making the most of a break in the weather, the Hurricanes met with the Tornados for an exciting game with strong pitching and defense.

Rocio Tarin crushed a nice double for the Hurricanes, and Karisa Leonard came up with a huge hit to center. Ariel Willis made two outstanding catches in the outfield, and Jay Jennings made key plays at shortstop to eliminate Tordado runners. Tricia Goularte continued her domination on the mound. Lindsay Capozza provided solid backup when the team depended on her. Kelly McDonald and Stephanie Case both did a good job sharing the catching duties.
