Juniors Division
Meteors 7, Asteroids 6
The Asteroids came out strong in the first inning answering the Meteors run with three runs of their own. Amanda Murabito knocked out a home run, and Margot Czeropski doubled to bring in Olivia Priedite. But the Meteors scored again in the second on Amber Fearnside’s single.
Solid fielding from Karyn Liensdorf and Whitney Alter kept the Asteroids from adding to the box score. In the third inning the Meteors’ bats became hot. Katie Machado’s RBI tied up the game and the Meteors took the lead with three more runs.
However the Asteroids’ bats were equally hot as Chelsea Girvin, Ally Troini and Monique Garrett all singled, stole bases and ultimately scored. Amanda Murabito hit her second home run of the game, and the game was tied again.
Meteor Viviana Rubio bunted in the top of the fourth and scored the winning run. Samantha Parraz had a solid outing on the mound for the Asteroids. Courtney Murabito singled in the bottom of the fourth but could not get home given the tenacious fielding of the Meteors.

Fog 16, Typhoons 1
The Fog team has dominated the Senior Division so fare with a 4-0 record. In Tuesday’s game against the Typhoon, pitcher Tanya Isbell continued to show her strength on the mound while being backed up by relief pitcher Andrea Garcia. Slugger Amber Isbell hit her second home run in as many games.
The left-field hit went over the fence and the cars parked there, hitting the street without causing any damage. Another top hitter was Sabrina LaCorte, who had a triple and a single. Colleen Henningsen made an unassisted out on a batter running to first base and then made a quick throw to second base to catch a runner there for a great double play.
Another double play was turned by Isbell with a diving catch of a pop fly at shortstop and then a throw to first to catch a runner off base. Sonya Cordova made a spectacular catch in right field. All the Fog girls got on base at least twice during the game. Runs were scored by Colleen Henningsen, LeCorte, Tanya Isbell, Ellie Gracie, Amber Isbell, Andrea Garcia, Julie Lopez and Cordova.
