Make A Wish at Specialized

Earlier this month, a 17-year-old Chicago teen diagnosed non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma last summer was granted his wish by the Make-A-Wish Foundation to tour Specialized Bicycle Components headquarters in Morgan Hill.
“Going to the Specialized HQ was like heaven, being surrounded by some of the best bikes in the world was just incredible,” said Graham, who enjoys riding his road bike with friends from Higher Gear in Chicago. At the request of his parents, only his first name is being published.
“We were presented with an opportunity, through Make-A-Wish Foundation, to make a wish come true,” explained Katie Sue Gruener of Specialized. “Graham’s wish was to visit Specialized HQ to check out our research and development facilities and get a custom S-Works Tarmac. He also asked for his sister, Quincy, to join the trip with him.”
The two Midwesterners came June 8 “to make his dream a reality,” Gruener shared.
The special visitors toured the different areas of the company and Graham was treated to a one of a kind custom Tarmac, that he designed himself. He took the bike out for a lunch ride with the crew and hit the roads of Morgan Hill.
“We are honored and humbled for the opportunity to do this,” Gruener said.
