Dear Editor,

We would like to express our appreciation to the community of Morgan Hill for the strong support shown for the library in the recent election on two parcel tax measures. We are proud that Morgan Hill passed both measures (75 percent for A and 67.7 percent for B), although Measure B did not pass countywide.

Nearly 150 volunteers helped with the campaign. Our special thanks to Vicky Reader, who organized and coordinated phone banking, and Rosanne Macek, our community librarian.

Our hosts for phone banking were South Valley National Bank, Heritage Bank of Commerce, Century 21 Premier, Sigma Properties and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 3.

We would like to recognize the participation of the Friends of the Library, American Association of University Women, Las Madres, St. Catherine’s MOMS, library staff, those who worked on the gala fundraiser, SEMA and Local 3 union members, and all the parents, teachers, students and other library supporters who donated time and money to the campaign.

Thanks to you, our Morgan Hill Library will be able to continue to offer the same level of services that we currently enjoy.
