Propelled by a three-run second inning and 13 strikeouts from Nicole Lobato, the Gavilan College softball team left Santa Clara with a 4-0 win over Mission College in Coast Conference North versus South crossover action Tuesday afternoon.

The three-run second frame came with two outs and morphed out of an Adrianna Osuna walk to start the rally.

Stephanie Doting chased home Osuna with a RBI single and later scored on an Aubrey Ayala two-RBI base hit to give the Rams a 3-0 lead.

The Rams tacked on another run in the third as Osuna plated Lobato, who reached via single, with a double.

Gavilan has the remainder of the week off before a two-game homestand to kick off the second half of Coast Conference South play. Monterey Peninsula College is in town April 12 and Hartnell follows April 14. Both contests are scheduled for 3 p.m. starts.
