The Bulldogs beat Leland 2-1 Tuesday, keeping pace with Live Oak
for the top spot in the division
SAN JOSE — Sobrato and Live Oak will have more than bragging rights on the line Thursday when they square off at Live Oak High School.

The Morgan Hill rivals will battle for first place in the Santa Teresa Division of the Blossom Valley Athletic League.

While the Acorns forged a 1-1 tie with Willow Glen on Tuesday, the Bulldogs beat Leland 2-1 in San Jose. Sobrato and Live Oak are tied for first place at 2-0-1 in division play.

Against Leland (4-4 overall, 0-3 BVAL), the Bulldogs (5-2-2) scored both their goals in the second half, getting tallies from Cullen Herrington and Thomas Torres. Herrington also had an assist as did teammates Dylan Serrano and Shawn Henner.

Sobrato goalkeeper Simon Schmidt surrendered a goal in the second half, but finished with four saves.
