Sobrato High School California Scholarship Federation members participated in a volunteer trash clean-up May 20 along the drainage trench at Butterfield Boulevard in Morgan Hill.

The effort was a part of the citywide Beautification Day, an annual effort to clean up Morgan Hill. Groups and individuals are invited to participate and after a morning of work they are treated to lunch by the city and can take home a free t-shirt.

Sobrato CSF President Mina Park worked with Morgan Hill Department of Public Works employee Tony Haro to coordinate trash removal in the trench from Main Street to Dunne Avenue.

The several dozen students who volunteered earned community service points, which is a focus for CSF membership.

To become a member of CSF, a student must maintain at least a 3.5-grade-point average. The club sponsors several community service activities during the academic year.
