The Sobrato boys basketball team lost 57-33 to Oak Grove on Wednesday in the final home game for SHS seniors Travis Saenz, Ben Vater, Jerry Jacob, Anthony Villarreal and Bryan Kobashi.

Those five were honored before the game, which didn’t quite play out like the team’s previous meeting, a 69-63 Eagles win in overtime on Jan. 18.

Vater and Saenz, who last year helped the Bulldogs to a second straight Central Coast Section playoff appearance while earning all-Santa Teresa Division honors, led the team with 14 points and seven, respectively.

Sophomore Karl Johnisee added six points for Sobrato, which plays its Mount Hamilton Division finale at Leland on Friday.

Live Oak couldn’t build off the momentum from Monday’s scoreless tie with Archbishop Mitty, losing 2-1 to Willow Glen on Wednesday at Live Oak High School.

The Acorns (10-5-2, 5-5-1 Mount Hamilton Division) have cooled off since their six-game unbeaten streak from Jan. 13 to Feb. 1 but are still in great shape to make sectionals entering the final week of the regular season.

  • Sobrato (14-2-1, 9-1-1) suffered a fifth straight loss by 2-0 score Wednesday to first-place Leigh.
