Forgery
Someone, at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 14 on the 7800 block of Monterey Street in Gilroy, used two counterfeit money orders, totaling $1,979, to purchase a Samsung tablet for $240. The victim cashed the two money orders and gave the suspect the difference of $1,705.
Vandalism
Someone, between 2 p.m. and 2:37 p.m. Sept. 16 on the 11000 block of Monterey Road in San Martin, used an unknown tool to cut the electrical and conduit pole of the victim’s farm property. Unknown suspects attempted to cut through the conduit pole to steal the aluminum wires inside but were unsuccessful, according to the report. Total damage is estimated at $5,000.
Someone, between 3 p.m. Sept. 15 and 8 a.m. Sept. 16 on the 100 block of North Street in San Martin, etched “gang related” graffiti markings onto cement steps at San Martin/Gwinn Elementary School. Estimated damage is $100.
Someone, between 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Sept. 15 on the 5000 block of Santa Teresa Boulevard at Castro Valley Road in Gilroy, used an unknown object and broke the victim’s driver’s side window while it was parked in the lot.
Drugs
A 23-year-old man was charged with possession of cocaine, morphine, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia at 10:07 p.m. Sept. 18 on Monterey Road at Highway 101 in Gilroy. The suspect had .4 grams of meth, 1.4 grams of cocaine, 13 morphine pills, a meth pipe and a meth-laced straw.
A 21-year-old man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia at 1:10 a.m. Sept. 15 on Welburn Avenue at Church Street in Gilroy.
A 29-year-old man was charged with possession of methamphetamine and being under the influence of a controlled substance at 4:56 p.m. Sept. 16 on Travel Park at Monterey Road in Gilroy.
Identity theft
Someone, between 8 a.m. April 24 and 3:30 p.m. Sept. 16 on the 13000 block of Colony Avenue at California Avenue in San Martin, used the victim’s personal information and applied online and opened accounts.
Vehicle burglary
Someone, between 9 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Sept. 17 on the 5000 block of Santa Teresa Boulevard at Castro Valley Road in Gilroy used a key and opened the door of the victim’s vehicle, stealing $485 worth of items.
Public intoxication
A 35-year-old man was charged with public intoxication between 3:15 and 3:23 a.m. Sept. 23 on the 1500 block of Gilman Road in Gilroy.
