Felony evading
A 25-year-old woman reached speeds of 130 mph trying to evade police before she collided with a tree on Monterey Road at Cohansey Avenue in Gilroy about 1:15 a.m. March 30. The woman, who had been traveling southbound on Monterey Road, fled the scene on foot and was arrested at her residence about eight hours later. The pursuit started at Monterey Road at East Middle Avenue in San Martin. The suspect was eventually booked on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to yield to emergency vehicles attempting a traffic stop, driving without a license and speeding.
Speed contest/unsafe speed
A 28-year-old man was racing his motorcycle southbound on Monterey Highway at Watsonville Road in Morgan Hill at 9:17 p.m. April 1. The suspect did not yield to emergency lights and siren, and accelerated to 100 MPH before pulling over 1.5 miles after the pursuit began.
Unlawful possession of a wild animal
A 57-year-old man was charged with removing a wild animal after a collision with a vehicle and unlawful possession of a wild animal at 4:30 p.m. March 19 on Hecker Pass Highway at Santa Teresa Boulevard. The suspect was parked on the emergency shoulder of Hecker Pass Highway when he walked across the roadway to retrieve a dead turkey, causing a traffic hazard, and placed it in his truck. Fish and Game officers later removed the animal from the scene.
Vehicle vandalism
An unknown suspect scratched the paint along the driver’s side of a parked vehicle between 9:45 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. April 7 on the 5000 block of Santa Teresa Boulevard in Gilroy.
Stolen tractor
An unknown suspect stole a tractor from behind a barn between noon April 3 and noon April 5 on Cohansey Avenue in San Martin.
Drugs
A 57-year-old man was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia 8:55 a.m. April 5 on Butterfield Boulevard at East Dunne Avenue in Morgan Hill. The suspect had a glass pipe and 4.2 grams of methamphetamine in his vehicle as well as three outstanding warrants.
A 36-year-old woman was charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of methamphetamine between 10 a.m. and 10:54 a.m. March 28 on the 7900 block of Croy Road in Morgan Hill.
A 42-year-old woman was charged with possession of a controlled substance and being under the influence of a controlled substance at 6:28 p.m. March 27 on Monterey Road at Monterey Frontage Road in Gilroy.
A 53-year-old man was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled substance at 9:10 p.m. March 19 on Monterey Road at Luchessa Avenue in Gilroy.
A 39-year-old woman was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled substance at 5:15 p.m. March 19 on Tenth Street at Alexander Street in Gilroy. The suspect was stopped for jaywalking.
Public intoxication
A 25-year-old man was charged with public intoxication at 3:48 p.m. April 4 on Bisceglia Avenue at Church Street in Morgan Hill. Officers were dispatched to a call on an unresponsive male adult lying on the ground.
Identity theft
An unknown suspect used a victim’s information and filed a federal tax return between March 5 and March 25 on the 12000 block of Steffs Court in Gilroy.
Grand theft
An unknown suspect stole jewelry from a residence on the 9100 block of Burchell Road in Gilroy between midnight March 3 and 6:24 p.m. March 31. The victim thinks the jewelry was stolen by her cleaning company, although no suspects have been identified.
Petty theft
An unknown suspect stole money off the counter of a business on the 13000 block of Sycamore Avenue in San Martin, after the victim cashed a $320 check and left the money on the counter. The theft happened between 7:10 and 7:20 p.m.
Auto theft/auto theft recovery
Officers came upon a vehicle parked diagonally across two lanes of traffic on Monterey Road at Burbank Avenue in San Martin at 3:48 a.m. March 31. The owner, who had reported the vehicle stolen, was contacted.
Officers recovered an abandoned vehicle blocking the roadway on Guibal Road at Rucker Avenue in Gilroy at 7:30 a.m. March 30. The vehicle had been reported stolen.
Officers recovered a stolen vehicle on Sycamore Avenue at San Martin Avenue in San Martin at 11:18 p.m. March 25.
Officers recovered a stolen vehicle on Castro Valley Road at Santa Teresa Boulevard in Gilroy at 10:41 p.m. March 22. The vehicle, reported stolen out of San Jose, was parked in a grass area off Castro Valley Road.
Burglary
An unknown suspect broke into a business on the 13000 block of Monterey Highway in San Martin and stole two laptop computers and one tablet computer valued at $1,400 between 8 and 9 p.m. March 30.
Vehicle burglary
An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger side window of a vehicle between 9 and 10:30 a.m. March 28 on the 5900 block of Monterey Frontage Road in Gilroy and took the victim’s purse, which contained cash and credit cards.
An unknown suspect broke the windows of a vehicle parked at a business on the 10000 block of Pacheco Pass Highway in Hollister and stole two bags containing computer equipment between 3:45 and 4:15 p.m. March 28.
Residential burglary
An unknown suspect stole property from a residence on the 1700 block of E. Middle Avenue in San Martin between 7:30 p.m. March 18 and 1:20 a.m. March 19.
Possession of burglary tools
A 33-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were charged with possession of burglary tools between 8:45 and 10:04 a.m. March 21 on the 14000 block of Columbet Avenue in San Martin. Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle pulling into the driveway of several neighboring residents. Officers located a chisel, a flat blade spreading knife and a spark plug in the female suspect’s purse.
Outside Service Report
A 34-year-old male was arrested at 9:16 p.m. March 19 on Leavesley Road at Murray Avenue in Gilroy, after officers received a “Be On the Lookout” from Salinas police. A loaded firearm and methamphetamine were located in suspect’s possession.
