Burglary
Someone, between 8:30 p.m. Jan. 11 and 8:30 p.m. Jan. 12 on the 13000 block of Sycamore Avenue in San Martin, broke into and ransacked a recreational vehicle, stealing three guitars, various camera equipment and a laptop computer. Stolen items were estimated at $21,300.
Vehicle burglary
Someone, between 3 p.m. Jan. 21 and 10:26 a.m. Jan. 23 on the 1200 block of East San Martin Avenue in San Martin, broke the driver’s side window of a work truck, then stole a purse and credit cards from inside.
Someone, between 7 p.m. Jan. 11 and 5:15 a.m. Jan. 12 on the 13000 block of Monterey Highway at Roosevelt Avenue in San Martin, stole $800 worth of tools from the bed of the victim’s truck.
Theft
Someone, between 7 p.m. Jan. 22 and 9 a.m. Jan. 23 on the 10000 block of New Avenue in San Martin, stole approximately $600 in tools from an unlocked vehicle.
Trespassing
A 56-year-old female was caught trying to break into a trailer on a storage yard at 11:55 a.m. on the 13000 block of Monterey Highway in San Martin.
Vandalism
Someone, between 7:30 a.m. and noon Jan. 13 on the 2200 block of Pacheco Pass Highway in Gilroy, broke the rear passenger window of a vehicle causing about $500 in damage.
Stolen/recovered vehicle
A work truck, unlocked with keys inside, was reported stolen and then recovered thanks to a tracking device in the vehicle between 2:05 and 6:20 a.m. Jan. 25. An unknown suspect took a defibrillator estimated at $2,000 from the truck.
An unoccupied vehicle parked on the side of the road, between 1 a.m. Dec. 1, 2015 and 3:45 p.m. Jan. 15 on Oak Street at Lincoln Avenue in San Martin, was discovered by officers to be reported stolen out of Gilroy.
Officers recovered a stolen car at 2:05 p.m. Jan. 13 parked in a field on the 1400 block of Buena Vista Avenue in Gilroy. The car stereo and some wrapped Christmas gifts were stolen from inside.
Identity theft
Someone, between midnight Dec. 1, 2015 and midnight Jan. 18 on the 1900 block of Rucker Avenue in Gilroy, opened a Verizon account using the victim’s personal information via the internet.
Driving infractions
A 32-year-old male was charged with driving a vehicle with a fraudulent license plate, being an unlicensed driver and having no front license plate at 10:43 a.m. Jan. 12 on Masten Avenue at No Name Uno in Gilroy.
Drugs
A 19-year-old man was charged with possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana in a vehicle at 7:32 p.m. on Monterey Road at Butterfield Boulevard in Morgan Hill.
A 26-year-old male was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia at 10:56 p.m. Jan. 20 on Bloomfield Avenue at Bolsa Road in Gilroy.
A 26-year-old female was charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance at 8:16 a.m. Jan. 15 on Ferguson Road at Leavesley Road in Gilroy.
