Residential burglary – A residence on the 10100 block of Jean
Ellen Court was broken into and cameras, jewelry and unspecified
amount of money was stolen from inside and hidden under a tree in
the front yard, between 2:15 and 3:25 p.m. Oct. 1. The victim was
able to recover all the stolen items.

Driver in possession of marijuana

  • James Aaron Araiza, 20, of Morgan Hill, 11:50 p.m. Oct. 3, near U.S. 101 and San Martin Avenue in San Martin.

Possession of a controlled substance

  • Joshua Lawrence Zapien, 30, of Gilroy, 10:15 a.m. Sept. 30, near First Street and Santa Teresa Boulevard for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Under the influence of a controlled substance

  • Shannon Marie Leonardo, 27, of Gilroy, 10:15 a.m. Sept. 30, near First Street and Santa Teresa Boulevard.

OTHER INCIDENTS

Identity theft

  • A Morgan Hill couple’s Wells Fargo account was charged for $364.96 worth of iTunes purchases, between 12 a.m. July 13 and 1:30 p.m. Oct. 2.

  • A water heater was removed from a garage on the 15000 block of Pear Tree Court in San Martin and left torn open on the side of the house, between 12 p.m. Sept. 2 and 4 p.m. Sept. 29.

Commercial burglary

  • About $80 worth of food was stolen from a food service trailer at Gavilan College, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., between 1:06 p.m. Sept. 30 and 9:05 a.m. Oct. 1.

Grand theft

  • Two air conditioners and a water heater worth $1,100 were stolen from a residence on the 13200 block of Lincoln Avenue in San Martin, between 12 p.m. Sept. 16 and 2 p.m. Sept. 28.

Recovered stolen vehicle

  • A 2002 gray Acura coupe stolen out of Campbell was found near Oak Glen Avenue and Chesbro Lake Drive in Morgan Hill, 12:25 a.m. Sept. 28.
