SAN JOSE — Sharks defenseman Rob Blake has no broken bones in his injured foot, but the veteran still is expected to miss San Jose’s games at Minnesota and St. Louis this week.
Blake was injured when teammate Devin Setoguchi’s slap shot hit him in the foot during the Sharks’ loss at Vancouver on Saturday night. X-rays and further tests this week uncovered no serious damage, but Blake’s foot still is sore.
The 39-year-old is having an outstanding first season with the Sharks, with nine goals and 30 assists in 62 games. He has a plus-18 rating and 99 penalty minutes for the Sharks, who began Tuesday in a tie with Detroit for the Western Conference lead.
