Make it Mine owners Wayne and Barbara Conroy have been running

Dear Red Phone, whom do I call to let know that the weeds are so
tall on Santa Teresa Boulevard that when I pull out onto the road
from Sunshine Drive, I’m afraid that I’ll pull out into an oncoming
car. Both sides of the road are overgrown and impair a driver’s
vision. Thank you in advance!

“Dear Red Phone, whom do I call to let know that the weeds are so tall on Santa Teresa Boulevard that when I pull out onto the road from Sunshine Drive, I’m afraid that I’ll pull out into an oncoming car. Both sides of the road are overgrown and impair a driver’s vision. Thank you in advance!”

Red Phone: Dear Wondering About Weeds, in this instance, you don’t need to call anyone because the city is following up on your question, according to Anthony Eulo, program administrator with the city.

“In the future, if someone suspects that the weeds are on private property, they should call the city’s Code Enforcement Officer, John Amos, at 778-6480,” Eulo said. “If the weeds are suspected to be on public property, they should call the city’s corporation yard at 776-7333. If someone prefers to report the problem online, they should go to www.morganhill.ca.gov and click on the “Report A Concern” button on the right side of the page – roughly in the middle. Once they arrive at the “Report A Concern” page, click the first choice, “General Inquiry” and submit the form. These inquiries are checked daily Monday through Friday.

“Finally, if the weeds are suspected to be in public land along a county road, the number to call is 683-1241. The area along Santa Teresa Boulevard, the subject of this call, is in their jurisdiction and the city has called them to notify them about the problem. We’re sure that they will be responding soon.”

Well, there you go good caller. All the information you need to keep your vision clear of weeds as you drive around town.

What’s the fine for running red light?

“Hey Red Phone, how much is the fine for running the ‘Do Not Turn on Red’ sign coming off northbound U.S. 101 at Dunne Avenue? It appears every other car tries to beat the traffic coming east over the hill. What about a camera there? Might bring in some much-needed revenue for the city. Thanks Red Phone.”

Red Phone: Dear What’s the Fine, Red Phone answered a similar question last year. According to Sgt. Jerry Neumayer, the fine for a right turn on a red light is $35, but there is also a penalty of $190, for total of $225. As for revenue from cameras, the city sees a small percentage of the fine, not the penalty, so the money coming into the city wouldn’t amount to much.

Hope that helps.
