Jensen Kenneth Wilson was born March 17, 2010 at Good Samaritan, San Jose, to Clay and Diane Wilson of Morgan Hill. He weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces.

Maxim Chávez Cunningham

Maxim Chávez Cunningham was born Jan. 25, 2010 at Saint Louise Regional Hospital to Maxine and Chris Cunningham of Hollister. He weighed 9 pounds, 6 ounces.

HONORS

Kevin Collins

Air Force Airman 1st Class Kevin M. Collins has deployed to Southwest Asia to support the missions of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, and the Combined Task Force-Horn of Africa. The servicemember will be a part of the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing.

While deployed, he performs life saving duties by responding to medical emergencies to include hazardous materials, structural and flightline emergencies.

Collins, a firefighter, is regularly assigned to the 9th Civil Engineering Squadron at Beale Air Force Base. The airman has served in the military for two years.

He is the son of Jeff and Jessica Mello of Gilroy.

Jeremy Pietrobono

Army Cpl. Jeremy Pietrobono has returned to Fort Richardson, Anchorage, Alaska, after being deployed to Afghanistan. The soldier is one of 3,500 members of the 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division stationed at Fort Richardson. Airborne combat team members included soldiers assigned to one of six battalions and regiments of the 25th Infantry Division.

The airborne brigade served in three eastern provinces of Afghanistan, which included the Paktya, Paktika and Khost.

While deployed, he was the recipient of the Army Commendation Medal and promoted to corporal.

Pietrobono, an indirect fire infantryman with two years of military service, is regularly assigned to the 1st Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment.

He is the son of Theodore I. and Judith Pietrobono of Gilroy. The corporal graduated in 2006 from Gilroy High School.

Kathy Ochoa Flores

Kathy Ochoa Flores, professor of English as a Second Language at De Anza College, has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant to lecture at the Universidad de la Serena, Chile during the 2010 academic year, according to the United States Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.

Ochoa Flores will teach and advise graduate students in the areas of second language acquisition methodology and materials, teacher training and language assessment. She is one of approximately 1,100 U.S. faculty and professionals who will travel abroad through the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program.
