Students attending Morgan Hill School District schools will be back in class Tuesday, Aug. 26. To prepare for the day, the district encourages parents to complete enrollment forms early.
Parents wanting to enroll students in kindergarten through sixth grade should pick up enrollment packets from the district office at 15600 Concord Circle, off Vineyard Avenue, south of Tennant Avenue. The office is open Tuesday through Thursday, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. through Friday, Aug. 15 and will be open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. beginning Monday, Aug. 18.

All new students must present the following documents: a birth certificate or passport confirming that the student was born on or before Dec. 2, 1998; the yellow state immunization record, health physical for kindergartners (the white CHDP form from a doctor’s office).
Parents must also verify residence in the district and may do so by presenting a copy of the lease/rental agreement indicating the manager or owner’s name and phone number, utility bill, driver’s license or escrow papers.
Class assignments for most elementary schools will be posted at the school site on Friday, Aug. 22, after 5 p.m.; others will be mailed approximately one week prior to August 26.
MIDDLE SCHOOLS
Registration for all Britton Middle School students will begin Aug. 14, in the school office. Testing for new students will be scheduled by appointment, requiring a 2-hour block of time for testing. Orientation for all incoming students will be held on Aug. 25 at 5 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. with a barbecue in-between at 6 p.m.
Additional information will be mailed before the start of school. Students’ schedules will be provided at the orientation for entering seventh graders and new students. All other students will receive their schedule on the first day of school. Details at 779-5200 after Aug. 19.
Registration of new Martin Murphy students will begin Thursday, Aug. 14. Testing for new students will be held from 8 a.m.-1 p.m., requiring a 2-hour block of time. An orientation will be held for all incoming seventh graders and other students new to Murphy on Thursday, Aug. 21 at 5 p.m., in the Murphy gym. Additional information will be provided with the “Opening School” packet, which will be mailed before orientation.

HIGH SCHOOLS
Registration of new Central High School students starts today, Aug. 8 and continues the weeks of Aug. 11, 18, and 25 by appointment only. Parents are asked to make these arrangements by calling the school at 779-5244.
Registration of new Live Oak High School students and schedule change request sheets are now available. Registration packets can be found in the LOHS administration office.
As soon as all materials are completed and returned to the school site, a counselor will contact the student to register. Parents and guardians with other concerns are asked to make an appointment by calling the school at 201-6103. Students may pick up their course class schedules at Live Oak as follows (course changes require an appointment.): Seniors, Aug. 18, 8 a.m.-noon; Juniors, Aug. 19, 8 a.m.-noon; Sophomores, Aug. 20, 8 a.m.-noon immediately following sophomore orientation.
Completed and signed emergency cards and contract signature sheets (received in the mail) must be returned before class schedules are released. Any students needing assistance with work permits or transcripts may contact the Educational Services Department at the Morgan Hill School District office 201-6070 through Aug. 15. After that time work permits and transcripts will be issued at Live Oak High School.
Sophomore Orientation is Wednesday, Aug. 20, 8-11:30 a.m.; Back-to-School Night is Wednesday, Sept. 10, 7 p.m.
HOME SCHOOL
Home Schoolers in the district will find help this year from the Elementary Home School Program, open to students in grades K-8. Program headquarters will be located at Barrett Elementary School and will have a full-time certificated teacher/coordinator. Registration packets are available at the Enrollment Center or can be downloaded at http://www.mhu.k12.ca.us/registration.htm. Details at 201-6070.
