RYAN WATCH: Local survives another results show

GOOD NEWS: Morgan Hill can still watch local Ryan Ramirez, 19, on the FOX TV show “So You Think You Can Dance?” After landing in the bottom last week, America’s votes saved her.

Ashley and Chris, Miranda and Robert and Caitlynn and Mitchell were in the bottom three Thursday night. The judges voted Miranda off, though it was not unanimous, however their vote was unanimous in sending Robert home.

  • HER SECOND LANGUAGE: Ramirez has said many times before that dancing is her second language. On Wednesday’s live performance show of FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance?” the judges echoed Ramirez’s mantra after she and partner Ricky Jaime performed a lyrical dance to Robyn’s “With Every Heartbeat.” Ramirez wore little make-up, her hair was pulled back in a tight bun and she wore a black leotard with cut-outs that unraveled during the dance (on purpose). Guest judge Kristen Chenoweth, a TV actress, said the dance was “amazing. … Ryan, you’re just a great dancer. That piece speaks. It was very beautiful.” Dancer and choreographer Lil’ C said Ramirez and Jaime are a powerful couple; “you’re coming in murdering every week. You only get seven hours to know this dance, to get to this caliber of performances. This is uncanny. This is unbelievable and phenomenal.”

  • HAPPY IN HINDSIGHT: Last week, Ramirez and Jaime were saved by the judges after finding themselves in the bottom six during the first elimination round of Season 8. Judge Nigel Lythgoe said he was pleased with their decision. “I’m really proud that we did (keep you). You really delivered on this stage,” he said. • CHILDHOOD MEMORIES: Prior to each couple’s performance, viewers get a closer look at each dancer’s life story thus far. This week, we got a peek into how each dancer got their start in childhood. Ramirez said she was very shy, but as other children forgot the routine she always knew the dance steps. Her first performance was at 4-years-old to “Animal Crackers In My Soup” by Shirley Temple; a photo of Ramirez in a bunny costume showed the same long blonde hair and big smile of Morgan Hill’s dancing sweetheart.
