The Sobrato and Live Oak golf teams’ seasons ended Tuesday during the Blossom Valley Athletic League championship at Coyote Creek Valley Golf Course in San Jose.

Neither team advanced a golfer to the Central Coast Section championship.

Live Oak’s Austin Ryder carded the lowest score among the two teams, finishing in ninth place with a score of 79. He finished on stroke back of a CCS berth. Teammate Matt Jarvis finished two strokes behind with a score of 81.

Mark Valentine finished with the lowest score for the Bulldogs, carding an 82. Michael Valentine carded an 87 for the Bulldogs.

Leland’s Connor Lawrence took first with a score of 71. Evergreen took home the team championship,

Volleyball

The Bulldogs improved to 12-8 overall with a 3-0 sweep of Pioneer on Tuesday.

Sobrato started strong, taking the first game 25-14. After a close second game – a 29-27 victory – Sobrato closed the win with a game three 25-16 win. Drew Mammen led the way with 11 kills and 10 assists.

Baseball

The Acorns continued their strong second half as they won their fourth game in a row, beating Silver Creek 5-2. With the four consecutive wins, Live Oak is now 13-11 on the season. The Acorns have won eight of their past nine games.

In the win, Live Oak fell behind 2-0 early before scoring twice in the third and fifth innings. Live Oak capped the victory with one run in the top of the seventh inning.

Adrian Garcia led with the way for the Acorns, finishing 2-for-3 with an RBI and two doubles. Jalen Salazar gave the Acorns their biggest boost with a 2-run double. Kyle Quadros pitched all seven innings for the Acorns, allowing two hits and striking out six.

Live Oak hosts Overfelt at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

One game after breaking a seven game losing streak, the Bulldogs returned to the losing end, falling to Leland 2-0 on the road.

Sobrato was held to only one hit – a Tanner Disibio single – as Leland scored single runs in the second and third innings to earn the victory.

Nick Giordano threw all six innings and allowed four hits and two runs in the loss.

Sobrato travels to Willow Glen at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
