The Sobrato baseball team broke its six-game losing streak Thursday with an 8-5 victory over Pioneer.
With the win, Sobrato is now 2-6 overall and 1-5 in the Blossom Valley Athletic League’s Mount Hamilton Division.
Sobrato jumped to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and added four more runs in the sixth inning to earn the victory.
Casey Conforti (2-for-3) finished the game with three RBIs and a home run. Tanner Disibio (3-for-4) added three RBIs and two doubles to help pace the Bulldog offense. Andrew Bueno, who finished 3-for-4, added two more RBIs.
On the mound, Conforti started and completed four innings. He allowed two runs and struck out five. Bueno came in for relief and went three innings and allowed only one run.
The Bulldogs’ season continues Tuesday when they travel to San Jose to play Leigh at 4 p.m.
Sobrato softball
The Bulldogs won their third consecutive game Tuesday, beating Monte Vista Christian 8-1 in Morgan Hill.
Sobrato is now 5-3 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Westmont at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Sobrato volleyball
After going 1-3 during Saturday’s tournament in Aptos, the Bulldogs fell to 3-4 overall.
After escaping with a 2-1 victory over Palma in the tournament’s first match, Sobrato struggled to keep pace with Oak Grove (1-2), Soquel (0-2) and Aptos (0-2) in three consecutive losses.
The Bulldogs travel to James Lick at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
