Third grade students Andy Bedell and Brooke Davis share their

Rotary Club of Morgan Hill launched a project last week that will give all 3rd graders in both public and private schools in the area new dictionaries.

Last week and this week members delivered 900 new dictionaries to 10 public and private schools within the Morgan Hill Unified School District boundaries. Every third grader will get to keep the dictionary as their own.

“I thought it was a wonderful project – our club is very much in support of the youth within the community and Rotary is interested in literacy, so it was a perfect tie in,” said Arlene Greenberg, the Rotary member who originally proposed the idea.

Considered a long-term project, Rotary plans on giving dictionaries to every current third grader for the next five years.
