Local graduates were awarded college scholarships thanks to the Rotary Club of Morgan Hill.

The Rotary Club of Morgan Hill distributed $22,000 in college scholarships to 21 Morgan Hill high school seniors, according to a June 20 announcement.
“It was a great honor to interview 45 great kids that are leaders in their classrooms and in life,” said Dave Conragan, chair of the Rotary’s scholarship committee. “Picking only 21 kids to support was tough, but we had a great group doing the interviews and we all worked together.”
The students who received these scholarships were:
• Live Oak High School: Grace Aochi, Lindsay Baker, Brooke Waller, Daniela Orozco, Chloe Ortiz, Dakota White, Hannah Teddleton, Aubrey Hamel, Rachel Sjostedt (winner of the Bill Stables Music Scholarship) and Cory Carlson (awarded the $2,000 Fitzsimmons Agriculture Scholarship).
• Sobrato High School: Derscene Tien, Kelsey Valentine, Gwyneth Tran, Chenyuan Zhang, Jordyne Atkins, Jang Dokko, Raya Kavosh, Krubeal Negash, Kamyar Nekoui and Michael Yamaguma.
• Central High School’s Alexis Hurtado was the recipient of The Bob Fischer Scholarship.
