A good time was had Saturday at the annual Machado School picnic, hosted by the Machado School Heritage Society. Catching up with old-friends, listening to music, enjoying a sunny day and dining on barbecue were some of the many things going on at the annual picnic, traditionally held to celebrate the end of the school year. There was a variety of displays to enjoy, including antique cars of the Valle del Sur car club, the quilts of the South Valley Quilt Association, art by local artist John Ward, historical photos and displays by the Heritage Society and artwork by students attending the Machado School Field Trip Program. Kids had a good time playing old-fashioned games such as Tug of War and Hoop and Stick.
