The Morgan Hill Community Foundation (MHCF) is hosting the 2nd Annual Discover Morgan Hill Road Rally and Poker Fun Run, July 13, 2013. The Road Rally showcases the multiple and varied places that make South Santa Clara County such an attractive area for businesses, residents and local tourists.
All businesses within Morgan Hill, San Martin and Gilroy are invited to sponsor Road Rally stop. There are two sponsorship levels available, $150 and $75, and the sponsorship deadline is July 1. If interested in sponsoring, contact Anita Woodson at (408) 859-9029 or email

Those interested in competing are welcome to enter any type of vehicle, motorcycles or mountain bike. The entry fee is $40 through July 12 and $45 for event-day registrations. The entry fee is considered a tax deductible donation to the Morgan Hill Community Foundation. For information about participating in the Road Rally, please visit www.mhroadrally.com.
Rally participants will begin at the Morgan Hill Community & Cultural Center, and then proceed through both the city and countryside to participating businesses. Each participant will have a chance to win $500 cash at the close of the race with the poker playing cards that are collected from each participating business. Participants choose individual routes for their own tours based on their interests. Registration at the Community and Cultural Center opens at 8 a.m., engines start at 9 a.m., and the event concludes at 1 p.m. with a “Winners Circle” celebration at the Granada Theatre in downtown Morgan Hill.
Last year’s race included more than 25 Road Rally stops. This year’s list of participating businesses so far includes: Rosy’s at the Beach, Grinds Wines & Automobile Café, Coyote Valley Sporting Clays, Winds of History Museum, On the Road Again British Motors, Thinker Toys, Ponzini Community Garage, Napa Auto Parts, Rocca’s San Martin Animal Shelter, Morgan Hill Dog Park, Andy’s Orchard, Anderson Park, Uvas Park, Chesbro Lake Bark, and Harvey Bear Park.
