Red Phone: PG&E trimmed tree at the dog park

I can’t believe if what I’ve heard is true, that the city will
be tearing down a seemingly, in pretty good shape, building to
enlarge the parking lot at Sinaloa.
“I can’t believe if what I’ve heard is true, that the city will be tearing down a seemingly, in pretty good shape, building to enlarge the parking lot at Sinaloa. I like going to that restaurant but please, can’t anyone walk a few paces? With as few retail spaces as we have, particularly older quaint structures (of which we have few left) I think we should keep and use the building, as people have said, we would like to be like a charming looking town such as Los Gatos.”

Red Phone: Dear Keep it Quaint, Red Phone contacted Joyce Maskell, the city’s downtown project manager, who said there has been an increased demand for convenient public parking in this northern part of the downtown.

“Expanding and improving the parking supply in the downtown is an integral part of the city’s parking strategy in preparation for upcoming revitalization efforts,” she said. “We are in discussions with WaMu to combine our two properties with their parking lot to create additional parking with improved circulation.”

There you have it, good caller. Unless the building is of historic significance and can be moved somewhere else, and we know that costs money, then it appears it will be demolished soon to make way for a parking lot. Ahhh, the benefits of progress.

Got a timeline for Ross to open?

“I have a question about Ross and dd’s. Do you know when exactly are they turning the dd’s into Ross?”

& Red Phone: Dear Double D, Red phone again contacted Garrett Toy, the city’s Business Assistance and Housing Services Director, who said at this time it is not clear when that change will occur.

“Ross did not give us a timeframe, but we’ll let you know when we find out,” Toy said. Stay patient, good caller.

More info needed to clean mess

“I just moved to Morgan Hill and noticed the plot of land on West Dunne Avenue passing Monterey Road. I was walking through the rolling hills and noticed so much garbage. From battered office equipment, to a mattress, rugs and other trash people just dumped. I want to know who I can call about this and what we can do to stop this from becoming a city dump.”

Red Phone: Dear Dumped, Red Phone contacted Anthony Eulo, the city’s environmental programs manager, who went out to look in the area but couldn’t find what you described. He suggested providing more details as to the location so he can take care of any problems.

Let Red Phone know exactly where the mess is and it’ll be forwarded and cleaned to keep Morgan Hill looking as clean as possible. Thanks, good caller.
