R. Alden Banner died Jan. 31, 2005.
He was a dentist for many years in Gilroy.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; children Cheri Sue of Gilroy, Gary of Gilroy, Jeff of Orange; grandchildren Richie, Amanda and Joey; sister Ida Mae of Rochester, Minn.; brothers Jack of Forks, Wash., and Max of Salinas.
Memorial service takes place at 11am Sunday, Feb. 20, at Seventh Day Adventist Church, Hollister. Private burial takes place at San Joaquin National Cemetery under the direction of Habing Family Funeral Home.
The family asks that any donations be made to Seventh Day Adventist Church School, 2020 Santa Ana Road, Hollister, CA 95023.
