Prep update: Sobrato’s Ankiel sweeps division tourney

Sobrato’s senior girls tennis player Emily Ankiel claimed the division single title Friday.
Ankiel defeated Westmont No. 2 player in the semi finals 6-1, 6-2.
The semi final victory guaranteed her admission into the BVAL league tournament;  however, Ankiel had her eyes focused on the championship.  She defeated the Westmont No. 1 player 6-2,6-2 to claim the division title.
Ankiel will likely be seeded No. 4 in the upcoming league tournament where she will meet either the runner up from the Santa Teresa division or the champion from the West Valley Division tournament.
