Morgan Hill’s finest police will face off against former San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders football players on the Live Oak basketball floor on Aug. 15.

The game is a fundraiser for the many youth programs that the Morgan Hill Police Officers Association supports.

The MHPOA, which was founded in 1974 to give officers a voice in the community, has sponsored many different programs like the Live Oak boosters and the YMCA.

Two scholarships are also given to Live Oak students each year.

The tickets are $10 each and are going fast. They can be purchased at the door or by calling First Down Productions at 778-1455.

The game time is 6:30 p.m. and the Live Oak gym opens at 6 p.m.

During halftime, players will be signing autographs and taking pictures.

Some of those scheduled to attend include Tim Harris, Steve Bono, Guy McIntyre, Tim Collier, Eric Allen, Rod Martin and John Pay.

Those scheduled to play for the police are officers Krewson, Rojas, Ray, Nelson, McNish and Jackson; Detective Palsgrove; Resource Officer Cervantez; sergeants Swing and Brazeal; Corporal Neumayer; and public safety dispatcher Dini.

“We will probably get creamed,” said Mark Brazeal, the president of the MHPOA. “We’ll try have to practice before then to get some type of team coordination down. Anyway, it will be an amusing and entertaining event to watch.”

Any donations for the fundraiser can be sent to the Morgan Hill Police Department at 305 Vineyard Town, Center Suite 210 in Morgan Hill.
