• A resident of Malaguerra Avenue reported his newspaper carrier found four car windows broken on the street. He also found one off of Mission View and in the Cochrane/St. Marks area. The report was taken at 4:13 a.m. on May 10.

• A Morgan Hill resident reported someone broke a window of her Toyota pickup and took her purse from the front seat while the truck was parked in the Cochrane Plaza shopping center parking lot. The report was taken on May 11 at 11:59 a.m.

• A resident of the 18200 block of Shadowbrook Way reported her locked Honda was broken into overnight and the stereo was stolen. The side window was broken and a screwdriver was found at the scene. The report was taken at 7:01 a.m. on May 16.

• An employee of a business on Joleen Way reported his vehicle while it was parked at work. The report was taken on May 16 at 12:06 p.m.

• A Honda Accord was broken into while parked at Fourth and Depot Streets. A briefcase, purse and many work-related items were stolen. The report was taken at 11:19 p.m. on May 16.

• A resident of the 17500 block of Del Monte Avenue reported the rear window of her Ford Taurus was shattered overnight, but it was unclear if anything was missing. The report was taken on May 17 at 1:50 p.m.

Stolen vehicle: A resident of the Crest Avenue Apartments reported her locked Chevy pickup was stolen overnight. The report was taken on May 2 at 7:49 a.m.

• A resident of the Madrone Mobile Estates reported his girlfriend stole his Mitsubishi Eclipse. He told police she had permission to take it to the store, but she disappeared. The report was taken at 11:43 p.m. on May 4.

• A Morgan Hill resident reported he took his Honda to someone who agreed to fix it, but the cost ended up being more than he wanted to pay, so he worked out a deal with the person who fixed it to buy the vehicle from him. But the person who fixed it took the Honda before paying for it, and it is gone as well as the person. The report was taken on May 8 at 4:43 p.m.

Fraud: A Morgan Hill resident reported the resident wrote two checks for utilities, and the same checks were reproduced and cashed somewhere else. The report was taken on April 29 at 10:14 a.m.

• The manager of the Johnson Lumber Company reported a customer tried to use stolen checks and a fake identification to purchase merchandise. The report was taken at 9:04 a.m. on May 1.

• Someone from South Valley National Bank reported receiving a counterfeit $100 bill. The report was taken on May 1 at 4:01 p.m.

• A resident of Calle Verde reported two of her checks that were written to creditors were somehow re-created and cashed. The report was taken at 2:22 p.m. on May 3.

• A Morgan Hill resident reported she never received the new checks she ordered from her bank, and when she inquired at the band she was told one of the new checks had been cashed at Safeway for $102.30. She believes the checks were stolen from her mailbox. The report was taken on May 5 at 10:29 a.m.

• A resident of the Nob Hill Terrace Apartments reported her son and his ex-wife stole her ATM card from her residence and used the card. She also told police they deposited a bad check into her account and withdrew funds against it. The report was taken at 1:04 p.m. on May 8.

• A resident of Murphy Springs Drive reported her brother’s friend stole a book of her checks and one of them was cashed by the friend for $500 at Wells Fargo. The report was taken on May 17 at 7:28 p.m.

• A Morgan Hill resident reported her credit card was stolen on May 2 at a store in Tennant Station. The credit card was used at stores, restaurants and gas stations in Morgan Hill and Gilroy. The resident told police she may know who stole and used the card. The report was taken at 4:27 p.m. on May 20.

Grand theft: A resident of the Crest Avenue Apartments reported someone stole the resident’s lawn mower, blower, weed eater, hedge trimmer and chain saw, worth approximately $4,500. The report was taken at 3:39 p.m. on May 7.

• Someone from The Seed Company reported a shoplifter stole a diamond ring worth $700. The report was taken on May 7 at 3:42 p.m.

• A resident of San Pedro Avenue reported someone entered the resident’s back yard and took $7,000 worth of landscaping equipment, including lawn mowers, a tractor mower, blower, weed eater, hedge trimmers and a utility trailer. The report was taken at 7:59 a.m. on May 8.

• Someone from the Target reported that four or five juveniles took a cart full of merchandise out their fire exit doors. The report was taken on May 12 at 5:20 p.m.

• A resident of Bender Circle reported that two bicycles, worth $600, were taken from his side yard overnight. Both were BMX-type Haro bicycles. The report was taken at 11:49 a.m. on May 18.

Petty theft: A Morgan Hill resident reported her daughter’s cell phone was stolen from her backpack while she was at the library. The report was taken on May 5 at 2:10 p.m.

• A resident of the 14200 block of Water Avenue reported her mail from May 6 was stolen, but she doesn’t have an idea of what kind of mail it was. The report was taken at 11:02 a.m. on May 9.

• Someone from the Lyons Restaurant reported a customer left without paying his bill. The report was taken on May 12 at 1:04 p.m.

• Someone from Burnett Elementary reported a student stole money from a teacher’s purse in the classroom. The student admitted stealing the money. The report was taken at 1:03 p.m. on May 16.

• A manager for the Inn at Morgan Hill reported suspects who checked into a room the night before left without paying for the room and took all the items from the mini-bar. The report was taken on May 17 at 4:13 p.m.

• A resident of the Cochrane Village Apartments reported her son’s bike was taken by a neighbor, for the fourth time. She told police she had recovered the bike, but wanted to press charges this time. The report was taken at 9:35 p.m. on May 17.

• A resident of the 17500 block of Holiday Drive reported someone stole a $50 check and a $35 shirt that was mailed to him. The box was open and the contents were missing. The report was taken on May 19 at 11:22 a.m.
