Accident: A Friday afternoon accident between a motorcycle and a car sent one man to the hospital after he was charged with drunk driving.

Dennis W. McCulley, 52, of Morgan Hill was driving his Honda motorcycle westbound on Miramonte Avenue at approximately 4:10 p.m. when he reached the stop sign at the intersection of Miramonte and Dougherty Avenue. After stopping, according to Officer Brad Voyles, McCulley pulled out in front of a Honda Accord driven by Diane Valdez, 35, of Morgan Hill, who was driving north on Dougherty. Voyles said there was no stop sign for Dougherty.

McCulley received a broken arm and lacerations in the accident and was taken to San Jose Medical Center.

Valdez was not injured or charged in the incident.

Fraud: Ross Dress For Less reported a female passed a fake traveler’s check. The report was taken on Oct. 8 at 3:59 p.m.

Auto burglary: a vehicle was broken into while it was parked in Shadowbrook Gardens. The dashboard was damaged, the stereo and a spray painter were stolen. The report was taken on Oct. 8 at 9:34 a.m.

• A cell phone was stolen from an unlocked vehicle. The report was taken at 4:33 p.m. on Oct. 8.

• A resident of East Main Avenue reported someone broke the window of the resident’s car and stole the stereo, CD’s and possibly other items. The report was taken on Oct. 9 at 7:08 a.m.

• A resident of the 17300 block of Lake View Drive reported someone broke into the resident’s travel trailer and stole a security camera, CD player, cigarettes and a jigsaw. The report was taken at 6:14 p.m. on Oct. 10.

Rape: A 17-year-old gave birth on Oct. 5, and the father is reported to be a 35-year-old who the female sometimes lives with. The report was taken on Oct. 8 at 6:01 p.m.

Arrests and citations: A 17-year-old Morgan Hill male was charged with theft from a person. The report was taken at 7:10 p.m. on Sept. 28.

Arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance: Summer J. Harrison, 27, of Morgan Hill was taken to county jail. The report was taken on Sept. 24 at 8:25 p.m.

Burglary: Intero Real Estate reported someone broke into the office on Oct. 3. Two laptop computers, a power supply, a wireless network card and other business supplies were stolen. The report was taken on Oct. 6 at 3:06 p.m.

• A resident of the 17000 block of Ascot Court reported that on Sept. 30, someone entered the garage (no sign of forced entry and resident could not remember if the door was open or not) and stole a gas leaf blower, a gas-powered hedge trimmer, a compound miter saw and two gas-powered remote control cars. The report was taken at 3:09 p.m. on Oct. 6.

Vandalism: A Morgan Hill resident reported someone shot a BB through the side window of her Chevy Avalanche while it was parked in the 17700 block of Monterey Road. The report was taken on Oct. 7 at 1:35 p.m.

• Elegant Woodworks reported someone threw a brick and rocks through a window of a work truck. Possible suspects include an employee that was laid off from the business the day before and another employee. The report was taken at 8:11 a.m. on Oct. 9.

Tampering with a vehicle: The rear plate of a vehicle was stolen while it was on Peak Avenue. The report was taken on Oct. 7 at 3:08 p.m.

• A resident of Colleen Court reported the rear license plate was stolen from his Plymouth Colt. The report was taken at 10:16 p.m. on Oct. 9.

Grand theft: A resident of the 16700 block of San Luis Way reported that while he was on vacation someone pried open his locked bedroom door and stole jewelry, money and possibly a mini Doberman Pincer. The resident suspects it was his daughter’s friends. The report was taken on Oct. 8 at 11:33 p.m.

Petty theft: A resident of the 16500 block of Mira Bella Place reported her driver’s license and some paperwork including a credit report and court documentation was stolen from her residence but there was no sign of forced entry. The report was made on Oct. 3 at 8:37 p.m.

• A juvenile reported someone stole her purse and some money while she was at the Lighthouse. The report was taken at 6:58 p.m. on Oct. 4.

• Walgreens reported a suspect filled a basket with merchandise and ran out the door. The suspect is on videotape. The report was taken on Oct. 6 at 1:51 p.m.

• A resident of Almond Way reported his mail was stolen from his mailbox. The report was taken at 1:58 p.m. on Oct. 8.

• Safeway reported someone stole a basket full of meat and other items. The report was taken on Oct. 9 at 12:16 a.m.

• A Gold’s Gym member reported a cell phone stolen from an unlocked locker on Sept. 4. The report was taken at 3:47 p.m. on Oct. 9.
