• Farotte Construction, working on a site on East Dunne Avenue, reported the work trailer on the site was broken into over the weekend, and items were stolen. The report was taken on Jan. 10 at 8:14am.

• Silicon Valley Glass on Vineyard Court reported the front door of the business was forced open, and the safe and the server room were broken into. The report was taken on Jan. 11 at 8:19am.

• Giancarlos Restaurant on Monterey Road reported someone broke into the business overnight, possibly through a window. A bag was left behind, and it was unclear at the time of the report what was stolen from the restaurant. The report was taken on Jan. 14 at 10:44am.

• A resident of East First Street reported he came home to find his TV and stereo were stolen. Someone apparently entered the residence through a window. The report was taken at 4:05pm on Jan. 14.

Petty theft:

• Goodwill of Santa Clara County on Monterey Road reported someone took a large jack used to move furniture while the employee was helping a customer inside the store. The report was taken on Jan. 12 at 8:09pm.

• A resident of the 15200 block of Via Corfinio reported the resident’s daughter left her bike in the front yard overnight, and it was stolen. The report was taken at 2:59pm on Jan. 14.

• Pump N Go Gas on Monterey Road reported a male juvenile and two female juveniles approximately 13-years-old stole candy and cigarettes from the store. The juveniles apparently hang around the store frequently, and management wants them prosecuted. The report was taken on Jan. 14 at 6:30pm.

Identity theft:

• A resident of the Madrone Mobile Estates reported he received a letter from Citibank telling him someone had attempted to open an account in his name. The report was taken on Jan. 4 at 3:32pm.

Vandalism:

•A Morgan Hill resident reported his parent’s headstones in Mount Hope Cemetery were vandalized overnight. Orange paint was used, and the statue on the tombstone was broken. The cemetery maintenance person said other headstones were also vandalized. The report was taken on Jan. 12 at 4:23pm.

• Suspects in a truck allegedly shattered the windows of a vehicle parked in the Cochrane Village Apartment complex. There was a witness to the incident. The report was taken at 1:38am on Jan. 15.

• A resident of the 17200 block of Calle Mazatan reported someone threw motor oil all over her Chevy Suburban. She told police this is the second time this type of incident has occurred. The report was taken on Jan. 15 at 9:46am.

Tampering with a motor vehicle:

• A resident of the Madrone Mobile Estates reported the tires were removed from the resident’s Plymouth Voyager overnight. The report was taken on Jan. 10 at 8:18am.

Stolen vehicle:

v A stolen Lincoln Navigator was recovered on Lindo Lane. The front of the vehicle, which was reported stolen in San Jose, was damaged. A witness described seeing several people wearing gloves riding around in the vehicle. The report was taken on Jan. 15 at 10:41am.

Robbery:

• A Morgan Hill resident reported someone tried to take his wallet the night before at the Fast Stop Food Store on Monterey Road and stabbed him in the shoulder, requiring him to get stitches. The report was taken on Jan. 14 at 3:52pm.

Gilroy Police

Burglary:

• Peter Savedra, 29, of Stockton, at 7:21pm Saturday, Jan. 29, at 8225 Arroyo Circle, for burglary with prior convictions and receipt of known stolen property, both felonies. Police responding to a call from a store in the outlets found Savedra in possession of merchandise from the Nike Factory Store, Foot Locker, Ecko Unlimited, Banana Republic, Quiksilver, and Big 5 in Morgan Hill, police said.
