n A Morgan Hill resident reported someone broke a window of the resident’s Mercedes, which was parked at Condit Road and East Dunne Avenue. Nothing was stolen from the Mercedes. The report was taken at 4:33pm on April 13.
Auto Burglary:
n A Morgan Hill resident reported the resident’s locked Honda Accord was broken into while it was parked in the 740 block of West Main Avenue. The stereo was stolen from the Honda. The report was taken on April 10 at 5:27pm.
n A Morgan Hill resident reported the resident’s locked Honda Civic was broken into while parked at the Bath & Body Works in the Cochrane Plaza shopping center. A window was shattered, and a stereo, radar detector and other items were stolen. The report was taken at 11:19pm on April 10.
n A resident of the Wright Avenue Apartments reported the stereo was stolen from the resident’s unlocked vehicle. The glove box door was left open. The report was taken on April 12 at 9:01am.
n A Morgan Hill resident reported her locked vehicle was broken into while parked at the Music Tree on Monterey Road. A window was shattered, and the resident’s purse was stolen. The report was taken at 3:58pm on April 12.
Petty theft:
n A resident of White Cloud Drive reported he found his son’s Acura Integra jacked up on bricks, and all four tires and wheels were stolen. The report was taken on April 11 at 8:24am.
n Sol Industries on Concord Circle reported a large pallet of copper piping was stolen from the business overnight. The report was taken at 2:03pm on April 12.
n A resident of Serene Court reported her passport, Social Security card and naturalization card were stolen from her residence within the last four or five months. The report was taken on April 13 at 10:35am.
Fraud:
n A resident of Remington Court reported checks were stolen from her home and have been forged and cashed for an amount totaling approximately $1,300. The report was taken on April 12 at 10:42am.
n Commonwealth Central Credit Union reported a customer said someone forged a check on the customer’s account. The report was taken at 3:19pm on April 13.
Identity theft:
n A resident of Badger Pass Road reported she went to a bank to open an account and was denied because someone in Texas is using the resident’s Social Security number since October 2004. The report was taken on April 13 at 11:51am.
Burglary:
n A house under construction on Berkshire Drive was broken into. Tools valued at $400 which were locked in a bathroom of the house were stolen. The report was taken on April 9 at 12:34pm.
n Farmer’s Insurance on West First Street reported someone broke into the business overnight and stole computers and a refrigerator. A small window of the business was shattered. The report was taken at 8:50am on April 13.
n Morgan Hill Barber Shop on West First Street reported someone broke into the business overnight. The business was ransacked, and the front window was shattered. The report was taken on April 13 at 8:55am.
n Sicilia In Boca restaurant on West Main Avenue reported someone broke into the business overnight. The kitchen window was pried open. The report was taken at 9:12am on April 13.
n Two businesses on Calle Enrique reported they were broken into overnight and ransacked. The report was taken on April 13 at 10:32am.
n Two houses under construction on Windsong Place were broken into overnight. A water heater was stolen, and there was damage to front and side doors of the houses. The report was taken at 1:09pm on April 13.
SHERIFF’S OFFICE
Drugs:
n Jeffry Harrison Ange, 39, of 10960 New Ave. in Gilroy, was arrested by sheriff’s deputies at 5:29pm April 12 at Foothill and E. Middle avenues in San Martin for possession of precursor chemicals for methamphetamine and transportation of a controlled substance. Ange was stopped for speeding and is on parole. He was searched and found in possession of 49.4 grams of methamphetamine, two digital scales, $5,700 in cash, pseudoephedrine, hydrogen peroxide, iodine, denatured alcohol (used for making methamphetamine), a stolen/lost credit card, a stolen laptop computer, a glass pipe with white residue and a syringe.
n Douglas Evans, 52, of 3280 Butterfly Court in Morgan Hill, and Diana Evans, 48, of 17086 Trailridge Drive in Morgan Hill, were arrested by sheriff’s deputies at 2:20pm April 12 at 3280 Butterfly Court in Morgan Hill for being under the influence of a controlled substance. Deputies had responded to a medical call at Douglas’ house and he was refusing treatment by the medical crew. Diana was leaving as deputies arrived. Both were found to be under the influence of a controlled substance.
