MORGAN HILL POLICE
Shots fired: Police received several reports from the Dewitt/Dunne Avenue area that shots were being fired. On investigation, it turned out that large fireworks were being launched in the area. The report was taken on March 12 at 10:29 p.m.
Threats: An employee of the AT&T Wireless store reported receiving threatening phone calls. The report was taken on March 11 at 10:12 a.m.
• A Department of Insurance employee reported someone was trying to file complaints through the department and when told by the employee that the case was unfounded, the subject began threatening the employee. The report was taken at 3:26 p.m. on March 11.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported an altercation with his neighbor and threats by the neighbor. The resident told police he was afraid to go back to his house. The report was taken on March 12 at 9:56 a.m.
Burglary: A resident of the 2000 block of Leptis Circle reported she came home and found her side garage door open. Her stereo and her son’s pellet gun were stolen. The report was taken on March 6 at 5:38 p.m.
• A resident of the Cochrane Village Apartments reported a set of rims were stolen from his porch. The report was taken at 3:18 a.m. on March 8.
• A resident of Las Casas De San Pedro reported her checks stolen from her home recently. The report was taken on March 10 at 9:54 a.m.
• Someone from A Tool Shed Equipment Rentals reported someone attempted to steal a gas pump by lifting it over the fence but left the pump hanging on the fence, damaging it. The report was taken at 9:56 a.m. on March 12.
• Someone reported their office at Go Kids near the YMCA on Crest Avenue was broken into overnight. The office window was shattered, and items were taken from the office. The report was taken on March 13 at 6:40 a.m.
Vandalism: A School District employee reported several windows of a portable at Live Oak High were broken over the weekend. The report was taken on March 10 at 9:52 a.m.
• A resident of the Archstone Apartments reported his vehicle was broken into overnight but nothing was stolen. The convertible top was damaged, as well as the steering wheel and column. The report was taken at 11:28 a.m. on March 10.
• A resident of the 300 block of Calle Asta reported a tree in the front yard was vandalized. The tree was planted a few days before, and four branches were later torn from the tree. The report was taken on March 11 at 1:27 p.m.
Tampering with a vehicle: A resident of the Morgan Hill Apartments reported the rear license plate stolen from the resident’s Ford Escort. The report was taken at 6:04 p.m. on March 6.
• An employee of the Kids World Child Care Center said the rear license plate was stolen from her van over the weekend. The report was taken on March 10 at 8:56 a.m.
Battery: An employee of the McDonald’s on Condit Road reported someone stole a roll of toilet paper, he confronted the suspect and the suspect tried to hit the employee. The report was taken on March 7 at 5:02 p.m.
• An employee of Sun Valley Tech Repair reported a co-worker assaulted him on March 11 at work. The employee said he was hit in the face and also hit his leg on a desk when he was pushed. The report was taken at 10:58 a.m. on March 12.
• The mother of an El Toro student reported her daughter was pushed by another student at the school, had the wind knocked out of her and was threatened by the other student. The report was taken on March 12 at 3:57 p.m.
Auto burglary: Someone reported she left her unlocked vehicle in the parking lot of St. Catherine’s Church and someone stole a check for $250 from the vehicle. The report was taken at 11:54 a.m. on March 6.
• Someone reported the toolbox on his truck was broken into overnight while it was parked behind Alpha Radiator. All the tools were stolen. The report was taken on March 10 at 10:12 a.m.
• A guest of the Microtel Inn and Suites reported his company truck was broken into at 12:30 a.m. The alarm went off and a clerk ran out to the parking lot but didn’t see anyone. The report was taken at 12:40 a.m. on March 13.
Stolen vehicle: A resident of the Madrone Mobile Estates reported his Jeep was stolen overnight. The report was taken on March 9 at 3:26 p.m.
• A resident of Bender Circle reported the resident’s Dodge Durango, which was left idling in the driveway, was stolen. A black bag containing credit cards and cash was inside the vehicle. The report was taken at 6:25 a.m. on March 10.
Fraud: Someone from the Commonwealth Credit Union reported two counterfeit checks deposited by ATM on June 21, 2002, in the amount of $3,876.32 and $3,826.20. The report was taken on March 12 at 10:55 a.m.
Grand theft: A resident of Calle Asta reported someone stole a pair of diamond earrings that were in a jewelry box in her room. The report was taken at 1:06 p.m. on March 4.
• Someone from Sunshine Bicycles reported a deposit from the business of approximately $500 was stolen from his truck. The report was taken on March 7 at 7:23 p.m.
Petty theft: A Morgan Hill resident reported her cell phone was stolen. The report was taken at 5:20 p.m. on March 1.
• A manager at Kindercare told police within the last six to eight months, someone entered her file cabinet and stole some photographs she had in a file. She talked with a former employee who she suspected stole the photos, but the employee told her to talk to another employee. The report was taken on March 7 at 10:29 a.m.
• A resident of the Hacienda Mobile Home Estates reported someone stole $150 worth of tools were stolen from his patio area. The report was taken at 9:28 p.m. on March 3.
• Someone reported a cell phone stolen from a park bench behind Paradise Valley Elementary School. The phone is worth approximately $226. The report was taken on March 4 at 11:08 a.m.
• A resident of W. Dunne Avenue reported someone stole a Haro Backtrails BMX bike from either their front lawn or the garage sometime during the day on March 1. The bike is worth approximately $280. The report was taken at 10:48 a.m. on March 5.
