Child Abuse:

•A Morgan Hill resident reported he received a call from his son who told him he was home alone. The resident told police his children are 12 and 8. He also told police the kids said the mother took away the phone so the kids couldn’t call the resident. He said Child Protective Services has been involved in similar incidents in the past, and the judge ordered the mother not to leave the kids alone. The report was taken on Oct. 19 at 1:02am. The children were released to the father at 1:54am, according to the report. The mother went to the police department later with her paperwork, and police ran the father’s true name through the computer and found there is a restraining order against him, with the mother and the children listed as protected persons. San Jose police were contacted at approximately 4:45am to retrieve the children from the father, but they had to be taken to a shelter because there is now an active investigation against the mother.

Burglary:

• A resident of Sorrel Way reported his ex-girlfriend broke into his home overnight through a side window and stole the purse belonging to his current girlfriend. The ex-girlfriend is calling the current girlfriend’s children and telling them that she’s “going to get them” and that their mother and the resident were “engaged in sexual acts” at the time she broke into the house. The report was taken at 9:54am on Dec. 14.

• Safari Salon on Monterey Road reported the business was burglarized. The report was taken on Dec. 18 at 7:30am.

• A resident of Avenida de Los Padres reported someon attempted to break into the residence. A crowbar was apprently used in an attempt to force open the door. Nothing was stolen. The report was taken at 10:51am on Dec. 18.

Identity theft:

• A former Morgan Hill resident reported he had moved to Florida, but someone obtained a credit card using his name. The card has been used in Morgan Hill. The report was taken on Dec. 14 at 11:57am.

Battery:

• A Morgan Hill resident reported her boyfriend, who has a history of domestic violence, hit her, choked her and threw her out the door. The report was taken on Dec. 20 at 11:57am.

• A nurse reported she gave a shot to a female and noticed bruising on her arms. When the nurse asked the woman how she received the bruises, the woman refused to answer. The husband then came in and was rude and sarcastic to the nurse. The report was taken at 12:57pm on Dec. 20.

Petty theft:

• A Morgan Hill resident reported her husband’s cell phone was stolen from the 24 Hour Fitness Club in Tennant Station. The report was taken on Dec. 20 at 1:44pm.

• A resident of Berkshire Drive reported the resident’s blow up “Grinch” was stolen overnight. The decoration is valued at $90. The report was taken at 5:03am on Dec. 22.

Vandalism:

• A resident of the 15300 block of La Arboleda Way reported the resident’s Dodge Caravan was “keyed.” The report was taken on Dec. 20 at 10:18am.
